Changes coming

Diane has quit the blog scene as most of you can tell. It's been almost a year since her last post. But, I know a few people out there still check the blog occasionally to see if there are new pictures and posts about Grace. So, I am going to take over the blog, change its format, and try to offer periodic updates on Grace while also writing on spiritual matters.

John Newton wrote, "A Christian is not of hasty growth, like a mushroom, but rather like an oak, the progress of which is hardly perceptible, but in time becomes a great deep-rooted tree."

The Lord has blessed us with a wonderful gift in Grace. What joy she has brought into our lives! Our desire is for her to grow to be a woman that loves the Lord with all of her heart and seeks to do good for all people.

May the grace of God abound in your lives.

The Secret Will of God

Many times we struggle to know the will of God. Our thoughts and ways are not like His thoughts and ways. This week we will celebrate the Incarnation of the Lord Jesus Christ. We, in our wildest imaginations, could never have thought up such an extravagant and beautiful Salvation. But such is God. His ways and thoughts are so far beyond ours that if He didn't condescend to communicate to us through His Word, we would know nothing of His thoughts toward us.

Today God has, in His infinite mercy and grace, finalized for us what His secret will is in regards to our newest child. The Lord God has chosen to take the child from my wife's womb. What a gracious gift He gave us in this pregnancy. It was a time filled with hope and excitement. Now we enter into a time of thanksgiving and submission to the will of the King. He has made His will known. God is very good in all that He does.

"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made know to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."

Phil. 4:4-7

If you do not already know the Lord Jesus, let me recommend Him to you as Someone worthy to be known. Worthy not just for what He has done for men. But, worthy for who He is in Himself and worthy of our love and adoration. He is the great and mighty King, the Creator of all that is, the One who is the Judge over all of mankind; He is Beauty from which all other beauty is but a mere reflection; and He is the Conqueror of all our enemies.

May the Name of Jesus be as sweet on your lips this week as it is on ours.
